Network coding is a very recent topic in information theory and networking. It consists of the simple idea of combining information linearly and sending it, in order to reduce the quantity of information that we should send. This idea is very useful in shared medium communication data. Our research aims to optimize the capacity of an ad hoc network by using network coding techniques. Our goal is to take advantage of the properties of ad hoc networks that use shared medium (radio interface) and also common forwarding nodes (MPR in OLSR for example), in order to increase their capacity.
